The Festival of Inclusion Is A Celebration of Diversity and Inclusion Across the Hospitality, Travel & Leisure Industry!

The inaugural Festival of Inclusion in Hospitality Travel and Leisure (HTL) in 2021 saw over 70 speakers presented, discussed, shared insights, best practices, case studies, stories across the whole breadth of the diversity, inclusion and belonging spectrum.

The conversations ranged from gender to race and ethnicity, from LGBTQ+ to social mobility, from age to disability and wellbeing. Speakers include CEOs, Chief People Officers, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officers, D&I leading experts, people who are passionate about diversity and inclusion. View who spoke at the event here.

Over 1200 attendees signed up to attend the event. The objective of the Festival was to celebrate diversity across the industry, showcase great examples of tangible initiatives that have a positive impact, raise awareness of the benefits of inclusive cultures from an employees' and customers' perspective and the perils of lack of diversity, inspire people whatever their background or circumstances to join and progress within the Hospitality, Travel and Leisure industry. Tickets to the event were free for employees of WiHTL Member organisations (see list) and those who are unemployed or full-time students who are looking to work in the hospitality, travel or leisure sector (proof required post registration).

The event took place virtually with all sessions being recorded so for those who couldn't make the full 2 days you can catch up on any sessions you misses! It's not too late to request the recordings (free to employees of WiHTL organisations). Email gina@wihtl.com

The Festival saw over 70 speakers across the 2 days! The Festival was opened by renowned TV Presenter, Diversity Expert and Award winning author, June Sarpong who led the opening session of the Festival. She interviewed Paul Pomroy CEO McDonald's UK&I on the impact of the pandemic on inclusive leadership.

Ahead of the event, WiHTL interviewed a number of speakers including Paul Pomroy, CEO, McDonald's UK&I; Dominic Blakemore, CEO Compass Group; Rt Hon Justine Greening and Moni Manning, NED, easyJet.
